Volunteer Opportunities

Below are a few of the primary needs but new opportunities pop up throughout the year and are posted on the PTA Facebook page and in the PTA newsletter.  If you are interested in volunteering or have any questions, contact volunteering@mantuapta.org.

Room Parent

Each homeroom teacher has a room parent to facilitate communication among class families about seasonal activities, school-wide events and ways to support the teacher and class throughout the year. This role can be done entirely remotely and the involvement can often vary by class/teacher. Room parents receive guidance, prompts and sample emails from the volunteer coordinator on what information to send out during the year.  

Tuesday Folder Stuffers

Each student has a “Tuesday Folder” sent home each week with class work and other important paperwork.   The folder stuffer coordinates a set time with their homeroom teacher to come into the classroom to stuff student folders.

Class Party Coordinators

Each homeroom has seasonal, themed parties throughout the school year that are planned by parents in coordination with the teachers.   The party coordinator plans the party activities ( rafts, games, snacks, etc.) and solicits for supplies and day-of volunteers.  

PTA Events

Prior to each PTA fundraiser or event, there will often be a call for volunteers posted in the PTA newsletter and on the PTA Facebook page.   These opportunities may be as little as one hour on the day of an event, or serving on a planning committee for a fundraiser.   Volunteers are ALWAYS needed for our events throughout the year!

Art Room Volunteers

Mantua’s art teachers often need help organizing art supplies, mounting art work, prepping materials, etc.   There will be a sign-up genius link included in the PTA newsletter and on the PTA Facebook page where volunteers can sign up to help based on their schedule and availability. 

Library Volunteers

Mantua’s librarians often need help organizing and re-shelving books throughout the year.   Calls for volunteers will be included in the PTA newsletter and on the PTA Facebook page and the time spent helping can be coordinated directly between the librarians and volunteers.
